Footage submission terms.

- Privacy: We respect your privacy and never share your data without your consent, except where the law requires it.
- Footage: You keep ownership of your clips but grant dashcamgh a licence to use and edit them across our channels. You don't transfer ownership.
- Consent and safety: We blur plates and faces, never publish fatalities, and only feature clips with your OK.
- Changes: We may update these terms. Please check back from time to time.
- Intellectual property: All dashcamgh content is protected and may not be used without permission.
- Governing law: These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and disputes are handled in Ghana.
1. Privacy and protection of personal data
1.1 Protection of personal data
dashcamgh respects the privacy of those who submit footage and undertakes to protect personal data in accordance with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and other applicable laws and regulations.
1.2 Collecting personal data
When you submit footage we may collect personal data, such as the submitter's email or phone number, or personal data visible in the footage itself (for example faces or vehicle number plates). dashcamgh will use this data solely to process the submission and handle related matters, in line with this policy.
1.3 Sharing personal data
dashcamgh will never share a submitter's personal data with third parties without the submitter's explicit consent, unless required by law or compelled by a court order.
1.4 Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or for as long as the law requires. You have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. For any request regarding your personal data, contact us at hello@dashcamgh.com.
1.5 Personal data in submitted footage
dashcamgh will take reasonable measures to ensure that any personal data visible in submitted footage, such as number plates, faces or other identifying information, is handled in a safe and responsible manner.
1.5.1 Anonymising data
Where submitted videos contain data that could be considered identifying, such as vehicle number plates or people's faces, we will blur or obscure it where possible before the footage is published.
1.5.2 Submitter responsibility
It is the submitter's responsibility to ensure that any personal data (such as plates or faces) is blurred or obscured if they wish. dashcamgh is not liable for personal data the submitter has not censored themselves, but will make reasonable efforts to anonymise such data where needed. The submission form lets you request this.
2. Submitting footage
2.1 Ownership and licence
By submitting one or more videos, you declare that you are the lawful owner of, or otherwise entitled to, the submitted footage. You hereby grant dashcamgh an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence (including the right to grant sublicences to third parties) to use, distribute, create derivative works from, and display or use the media across channels, including but not limited to the dashcamgh social channels. This licence also includes the right to edit, adapt, and combine the submitted footage with other material and to distribute it across various media, both online and offline.
2.2 Use of footage
By submitting your footage, you give dashcamgh permission to use it on its channels and other connected platforms, including but not limited to social media, websites, and other media channels. dashcamgh reserves the right to use submitted footage for promotional purposes.
2.3 Submitter liability
You declare that, in submitting the footage, you do not infringe the copyright, privacy, or other rights of any third party. dashcamgh will not be held liable for any damage arising from the content of the submitted footage.
2.4 Duration of licence
The licence granted for the use of footage is irrevocable and remains valid for as long as the footage is used by dashcamgh and other authorised parties. The licence remains in force even after any collaboration with dashcamgh ends.
2.5 Removal request
If at any point you decide that you want your footage removed, you can submit a request to dashcamgh at hello@dashcamgh.com. We will make reasonable efforts to remove the footage from future publications, but we cannot guarantee that all earlier publications will be removed.
3. Other provisions
3.1 Liability of dashcamgh
dashcamgh is not liable for any damage arising from the use of submitted footage. The submitter indemnifies dashcamgh against any claim arising from the content of the submitted footage, including but not limited to copyright claims, privacy issues, and breaches of other laws.
3.2 Intellectual property rights of dashcamgh
All content, such as logos, brand names and graphic materials, used by dashcamgh is the property of dashcamgh and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. These materials may not be used without prior written consent.
3.3 Right to remove footage
dashcamgh reserves the right to remove or decline to use submitted footage if it does not meet our guidelines, infringes the rights of third parties, or conflicts with applicable laws and regulations. dashcamgh is not obliged to publish or use submitted footage.
3.4 Transfer of rights
dashcamgh reserves the right to transfer the rights and obligations arising from these terms to a third party at any time.
3.5 Changes to these terms
dashcamgh reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. In that event, the change will be announced and the amended version applies from the moment of publication.
3.6 Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising from these terms or from the use of submitted footage will be submitted to the competent courts of Ghana.
